saying goodbye to winter

saying goodbye to winter

in the village where we live there is a Pagan festival on the 31 of January called Ginèe. during that night lots of people get together at the beach on the lake and make a bonfire to say goodbye to winter.

we burn away the darkness, the cold and the short days. we drink mulled wine and eat panettone and homemade cookies and in a way celebrate the arrival of spring. we’re definitely very optimists in doing so, today is still feel a lot like winter and it’s super foggy, but I have to admit that the temperatures raised quite a lot from yesterday. maybe it does work, maybe there is a bit of magic into it after all. maybe the important thing is to believe in it and be optimists, staying together in front of the darkness and holds hands.

and I’m not only talking about the bonfire.
