my hand printing process and new postcards

my hand printing process and new postcards

just a quick post about how I hand print some of my illustrations. What I’m showing you here are two new postcards, drawn and printed by me in my tiny studio at the lake.

I love carving my designs. It can be a long process, but the satisfaction is huge. Sometimes it’s a bit frustrating when the result is not how you imagined it. Sometimes I fail, but I always enjoy it.

  2. Mirta! You have the most beautiful work! I’ve long admired your attention to detail…the beauty of your finished product. It is minimal and rich all at once…

  3. That feeling of anticipation just before you print! It’s terrifying sometimes :) I often start to feel really uncertain about my carving just before I finish, but often the print is better than I’d hoped (or feared)!

Your work is so lovely. I adore this design with the little blue accent.
